On July 2nd Gfunk hosted a disco dance party. The disco ball was present and some groovey and spontaneous jams had us all dancing and cartwheeling(the theme at Gfunk at this years rainbow) in the meadow. This song was from an improvised funk trance moment. I love the earthiness of the words and rhythm. There is a short sample at the end of a thuderstorm that was on its way I believe in the afternoon on July 2nd. |
El 2 de julio Gfunk tuvo una fiesta “disco”. Había hasta una bola de disco y unas sesiones de improvisación maravillosas y espontáneas nos tenían a todos bailando y haciendo volteretas (el tema de Gfunk este año) en el bosque. Esta canción es de un momento de trance. Me encanta lo cercanas a la tierra que se sienten las letras y el ritmo. Al final hay un corto sample de la tormenta que se avecinaba, creo que en la tarde del 2 de julio. |

Recorded at the July 2nd Gfunk disco dance party. This group is from Bloomington,IN and they arrived to the gathering prepared to get funky. This reggae roots song interwove nicely into the mix of dance music featured on that funky night.One of my favorites on this years collection. The sample that follows is of a walkabout I made on the rainbow trail while fast approaching the estactic chants of the Hare Krishnas. |
