Greetings and welcome to the 10th year of the rainbow family circus & tribal zoo compilation project and what a year it was! We were baptized with a double rainbow on the 4th of July, certainly an occasion that will not be soon forgotten. I was reflecting on the passing of a friend and the 4th of July rainbow that we shared together and these following words came to me.

From the roots of rustic truths to the honor we venerate
We have but the moments to share so saddle up my friends
For this land and our hands clench for the cherished strengths
Realizing that when our time is gone its gone as the winding dream...

Over the years I often have enough recordings to compile 2 CDs worth of music and sometimes enough for only one. This year I recorded several more hours, largely due to the extended jams of the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution night. As a result of the additional recordings I compiled 52 songs and poems over 3 CDs. Enjoy!

For now your only option is to download each track individually(except CD 2 which is ready) but soon enough at the bottom of the page the download complete file will be set up and ready to roll.

This gathering contains 3 CDs. The First CD has 17 tracks on it, the second CD has 19 tracks and the third CD has 16 tracks.

CD 1

1- The Dance Chronicles(TDC) Soul Funk - Gfunk Collective

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. This dance party night and experiment happened soon after the annual dating game at Granola Funk. The theme of the dance party was musical spontaneity. The music moved and swayed into many musical territories. An editing challenge but certainly fun to sort through and find gems such as this one. This segment is how it all began and it is a fitting way to begin this years collection.

2- Wake Up - Human

Recorded on the night of July 3rd at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. Human and a few others accompaning him played several wonderful songs around the fire. Wam fire, warm people, warm chai and yummy popcorn. Good stuff!

3- Cello Solo 1 - Brandon

Recorded July4th at the Granola Funk Theatre Variety show. This piece is bad ass, nuff said.

4- Holding Breath - Sub Dan

Recorded on July 5th at the Spoken Word/Open Mic at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. Gosh, who knows how many years Diamond Dave has been the MC at open mics at and outside of rainbow. This year once again showcased the many talents that offered some words. This one is a tongue twist into a brain twist. Life is like a broken VCR rusted shut and stuck on record.

5- Dinah - Kid Village Jazz Band

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. An old standard  written by Harry Akst, the lyrics by Sam M. Lewis and Joe Young from the heyday of Jazz, the 1920s.  The dance party took a turn to New Orleans and this is the first song they opened with.

6- TDC 2 Deep Funk - Gfunk Collective

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. Somewhere down the amagalmated night of dance.

7- The Birds Ode 1 At Kickapoo Knoll

Recorded early morning in early July just outside of Kickapoo Kitchen during sunrise. There was magic in the morning birds. I recorded them as I was making morning coffee in the kitchen. Over twenty minutes were recorded and I broke it up into several segments and this is the first of three featured on this years collection.

8- Time - Adam Cedar

Recorded on July 5th at the Spoken Word/Open Mic at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. The first of two pieces by Adam in timely perspectives.

Recorded on the night of July 3rd at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. This song is decorated with awesome lyrics.

10- Pure As Gold - David

Recorded on the night of July 3rd at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. As Human took a break David played this brief ditty.

11- Random Kitchen Moment At Kickapoo

Recorded around June 28th late night in Kickapoo Kitchen. Several guitarists jammed as we sat warming ourselves by the kitchen fire in the wee hours of the morning.

12- With The Walking Birds

Recorded walking from my tent over to Safe Swingin' and Lovin' Ovens. A snippet and snapshot of the Parque Venado ambience.

13- Old Hen - Isaac

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. The weaving spontaneity sometimes steered towards melodic venues. This segment is beautiful.

16- Simple Ways - Human

Recorded on the night of July 3rd at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. The kind of well written folk song that seems like it was written a hundred years ago. Timeless words.

17- Bira Bird Morn At Funkapoo Bump 2.79M

Recorded in late June in early morning just outside of Kickapoo Kitchen. Strange little ambient interlude...

CD 2

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. A little time and grace going with the moment.

4- Mountain Tops - Human

Recorded on the night of July 3rd at Popcorner/Kickapoo fire. A protest song that sheds light on a major issue that is plaguing the Appalachain communties in the Eastern United States. Another song that feels as if it was written many years ago. One of my favorites I recorded at the gathering.

Recorded on July 2nd at the Gfunk Super Dance Party Prom Revolution. You never knew what to expect that night and this is a fine musical and lyrical tribute to Tea Time.

19- Harp Birds In The Woods 5.39M

Recorded late June in a quiet meadow near Horse Camp. If you took a hike into this area of the gathering then you are familar with the tranquility that the rolling meadow evoked...I added a little extra at the end. Think sticky bun and you'll get the idea.
